Estate 14KT Yellow Gold Squared Garnet Solitaire Band, ca. 1970's

Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this estate band from the 1970's features an emerald cut garnet of approximately 0.41 carat set east-west across a squared, flat top, flanked by crisp ribbed detailing. Two round brilliant cut diamonds measuring 1.5mm, approximately 0.03 tcw, are set one above the other beside the garnet. The ring is a size 7 with a weight of 2.6 grams.

Garnet takes its name from the Latin granatum, meaning pomegranate, a nod to the deep red color of the seeds.
