Originally a Victorian stick pin, this piece was converted into a pendant/charm by Nelson Coleman Jewelers in 2026. Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, it takes the form of a scimitar sword with a curving blade and scrolled crossguard, with a grip wrapped in sterling silver wirework. The pendant measures 1 1/2 inches long by 1/4 inch wide, weighs 1.3 grams, and has been acid tested. No chain included.
The scimitar is known for its curved, single-edged blade, and this miniature captures that sweeping shape in fine detail. The front of the blade is decorated with twisted gold rope detail and applied gold beads, and the crossguard is accented with beads along its center, while the coiled silver wirework at the grip adds a cool contrast to the warm gold. The conversion lets a piece once worn on a lapel or tie now be enjoyed on a chain or charm bracelet.
A distinctive find for collectors of Victorian jewelry and figural charms, this scimitar pendant/charm brings old-world detail to a small, wearable form. It would also make a memorable gift for anyone drawn to unusual antique pieces with a story behind them.
