Estate 14KT Yellow Gold and Diamond Art Nouveau Feather Cufflinks, Victorian Era (As-Is)

Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, these Victorian era cufflinks feature round openwork faces of swirling feather forms, each centered with a bezel set old European cut diamond. The two diamonds measure 2.5mm each, for a total weight of approximately 0.10 carats, with G-H color and SI clarity. Each face measures 1/2 inch in diameter and connects by a 3/4 inch chain to an 11/16 inch bar, sculpted with the same scrolling feather design. The pair weighs 9.2 grams.

The old European cut is an early round diamond cut, shaped by hand with a small table, a high crown, and an open culet, giving it a soft, warm sparkle that differs from the modern round brilliant. Art Nouveau design favors flowing, organic forms drawn from nature, and here the feathers curl around each diamond in pierced, sculptural relief. The chain-link construction lets the cufflinks sit comfortably at the cuff, and the matching bars carry the design to both sides of the wrist.
