Nelson Coleman Jewelers is hiring!

We are hiring a part time and a full time sales associate. We are a sixth-generation family owned jewelry store that specializes in custom and estate jewelry, hand-picked contemporary pieces, as well as your favorite names like Le Vian and Hearts on Fire.
 
The ideal candidate to join our team will be personable, professional, and dependable; self-motivated, positive and engaging!
 
Sales experience in a retail environment is very desirable but it is not a requirement; the right personality and attitude is equally important. We will provide product knowledge and training!

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Greeting and welcoming customers
  • Recommending and aligning customers with products to suit their needs
  • Educating customers on proper care of their jewelry
  • Ask, Listen, Paraphrase customers’ needs
  • Provide a Luxury experience every time
  • Assisting in the display of merchandise and maintaining overall cleanliness of the store
  • Operating POS System
  • Building meaningful customer relationships to ensure continuous relationships
  • Utilizing customer service techniques and professional selling skills to achieve personal and team sales goals

Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous retail sales experience is a plus

No mall hours!

Hours are 9:30-6:30 Monday-Friday; 9:30-5:30 on Saturday; 10-4:30 on Sundays. Your nights are yours.
*Holiday hours slightly extended

Full Time position 40 hours per week
Starting at $37,000/ year plus bonus
After 60 days, we pay for 100% of your bronze level health insurance through Aetna.
We pay for all long term and short term disability
Employees will also receive a small life insurance policy in which you would need a beneficiary of $20,000
Other benefits provided through payroll deduction are Legal Shield, Colonial Life
Once we are able we have a 401k via Vangaurd The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday – Saturday and the occasional Sunday

Job Title:​Repair Processor
Reports to: ​President/Regional Sales Director and Sales Manager
Department/Division: Technical Services
FLSA Status:​Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY
The Repair Processor is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the service department. Coordinates and prioritizes all jewelry repairs and re-imagination work with bench jeweler and contracted services for Nelson Coleman and Mayflower. Provides cost estimates and repair guidance to sales manager, inventory manager, jewelry designer, estate and sales teams. Coordinates work for shop and bench jeweler.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Coordinates and prioritizes all jewelry repairs and re-imagination work with bench jeweler and contracted services for Nelson Coleman and Mayflower . Subject matter expert for jewelry repairs supporting sales manager, inventory manager, estate and sales teams. Supports sales team and manager in repair estimates, and performs on the spot repairs when possible (e.g. watch battery replacement). In partnership with sales and sales manager, catalogs, inventories and secures items for repair. Supports inventory department in bringing custom and repair jobs to fruition.
• Develop and coach sales team in repairs, estimates, and customer service that cultivates an outstanding and unique customer experience. Provide on-going performance feedback, immediately praising great performance publically or addressing concerns privately. When necessary, review all aspects of repair department to new associates. Ensure timely completion , accuracy of time cards and payroll. ​
• Maintain open and timely communication with sales team members, management team, inventory manager, and jewelers regarding project status and repair updates. Coordinates work with contracted bench jeweler services in addition to in-house bench jeweler. Provides jewelry consultation services to sales team, designer, sales manager, estate sales team, inventory manager, merchandising manager.
• Performs gem identification and grades diamonds and gem stones. Provide estimates for sales team, sales manager and clients. Evaluate quality of incoming inventory and repair items. When needed calculate value of incoming trade-in or pre-owned jewelry. Performs quality assurance check of all completed work prior to delivery to client.
• Ensures adequate supplies for repair and custom work are available to bench jeweler and contracted bench jeweler services, utilizing inventory as appropriate to increase profitability and reduce costs. Maintains repair reports.
• Support store operations including opening, closing, answering phones, security protocols/procedures, inventory case counts, and store maintenance. Performs some housekeeping duties.
• Provide backup support to Sales Associates, Jewelry Designer, Estate Jewelry, Customer Service and Sales Manager as needed for coverage, locating inventory, custom design, or in closing sales.
• Responsible for all Montage Warranty Claims both with processing and reporting.
